Abbatial election at Santa Maria of Poblet (Spain)

On the morning of April 22, 2024, the community of Poblet elected Fr. Rafael Barrué as their new abbot. The election ceremony was presided over by the Abbot General, Dom Mauro Giuseppe Lepori. The new abbot of Poblet was previously the Prior and administrator of the monastery after the abbot emeritus, Fr. Octavi Vilà Mayo, was elected the new bishop of Girona. The episcopal ordination of  Fr. Octavi occurred on April 21, the Fourth Sunday of Easter (Good Shepherd Sunday), in the cathedral of Girona. Let us thank God for his goodness, that He may pour his abundant blessings on these two pastors of our Order!
