Zirc, June 14, 2017

Fr. Sixtus Dékány, Abbot President of the Congregation of Zirc, offered his resignation after having requested a vote of confidence from the community. The Abbot General visited Zirc accompanied by Abbess Olgi of Kismaros and Fr. Bernard Marton of Dallas. After having listened to the community for two days, on June 14, 2017 he nominated Fr. Bernat Berczi, monk of Zirc, as Prior Administrator for one year.
During this period, as foreseen in the Constitutions, Abbot Peter Verhalen of Dallas will substitute the president of the Congregation of Zirc as first assistant.
